about the collective
we curate creative expressions centered on the
advancment of the collective well-being.
these
projects encourage we, the people, including you, to take actions that shape a present we want to be a part of and a future we want to sow.
a focused exploration
the north american trek:
our current project is a six to eight month journey across North America where we’ll release video essays that examine and deconstruct our idea of hope throughout canada, mexico and the united states.
at the heart of the project is the belief that hope is more than a feeling. it becomes meaningful when it is put into practice. throughout the trek, we are exploring three interconnected pillars of hope: belief, the conviction that change is possible; willpower, the determination to pursue that change; and waypower, the ability to imagine and create pathways forward.
through conversations with people encountered along the journey, we are documenting how these ideas appear in everyday life and how they help individuals and communities navigate instability.
serves as both a framing device and a cultural provocation meant to inspire thought and provide a deeper context of our current social, cultural and political state by cross examining hope, history and action by way of premeditated and emergent frontline efforts.
themes of the all projects during the north american trek:
- on hope
- on history
- on action

partnering with us
the stories, images, recordings, and reflections gathered during the Trek will become a multimedia public exhibition and community conversation. the presentation will include photography, film, sound, maps, journals, and participatory elements organized around the themes of belief, willpower, and waypower. Visitors will be invited to reflect on their own experiences and contribute responses to the question: What is there to hope for?
if grants, sponsors, foundations, individuals, art galleries, conferences, schools, or organizations are interested in working with us throughout this trip, please let us know by emailing habit.us@wegroweco.org.
